On Saturday, August 17, Syrah Scott unveiled Top Choice Models ’new ad campaign with a photo shoot that featured the agency’s very own talent. Syrah, who previouslybooked models for a another agency, decided it was time to start a company of her own. In 2009, with the encouragement of a mentor figure, she managed to produce a company that was filled with a diverse group of up-and-coming models. “I saw that the industry lacked diversity and wanted to create a platform for those hungry models that found it hard to fit into the industry,” she explains, “It’s been a struggle don’t get me wrong. This has been a journey for me, but I’ve learned so much through the experiences I had, and it’s just making sense now to take this to the next level.”
The photo shoot took place on Avenue of the Americas in New York. The industrial atmosphere was completely vacant and entirely white from the exposed ceilings to the laminate floors. The setting complimented the models’ look for the shoot; fresh, clean, sophisticated chic. Hair and makeup artist Kristyl Newell elaborates on the models first look saying, “It’s just a very natural look. So, basically just playing up their features and enhancing everything they have.”
The shoot was packed with high energy, with music playing in the background and dancing models eager to get their hair and makeup started. The makeup and hair showed versatility in the creative concepts no
t only within the artists’ range, but also with the models. Models Chloe Knight, Adam Roberts, and Renata Bolotova rocked their dramatic editorial looks, while Kendrick Kemp, Jasmine Brown, Lina Weiss and Myra Beji flaunted their natural flawless features. Syrah is excited to, “provide a platform for them and actually develop ”supermodels.” She continues to say “for us we are about branding models and creating a unique package. Spreading their wings and making them into supermodels is our goal, you know like those Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawfords and Tyson Beckfords. The industry is in need of this concept again we need to reclaim the covers of magazines.”

Many of the Top Choice Models have always dreamed of being a part of the entertainment industry. They were all discovered in different ways and share a similar passion for the modeling world. Kendrick Kemp, originally from Bahamas, dreamed of breaking into the entertainment industry saying, “when anyone is from a small country or little island you have bigger dreams, the island you’re on can’t contain you.” Lina Weiss never imagined herself as being a model, “I never thought I could do it.” But after sending her portfolio to Syrah, she landed a spot at Top Choice Models ![image9]()

It’s just about advertising our talent,” says Syrah. “This ad showcased the commercial side, as you saw with the bridal shot and then the high fashion side to show that we have all of this wrapped up in one agency” Top Choice Models exposes new and fresh faces and is the go to agency for a ”global presence of talent.” This new ad reveals how truly diverse the company is and will bring more awareness to its talented team. I was truly excited to get a sneak peak of this campaign and thrilled to hear about their much anticipated ” Be You” campaign, a project aimed towards self awareness and development and most of all inner beauty. Be sure to look out for the “Be You” campaign happening soon!
