What is Less Magazine? It is a concept that haven’t strived a lot of peoples mind yet, but hopefully it will do soon. This magazine has a lot to offer, but first and foremost you have to understand what this is. It is not a physical magazine, or for now it isn’t. It is an online magazine that can be read at http://lessmagazine.com/. They leave a message with each of their issue, with each of their shoots, with all of their interviews. The magazine is not based on trend setting and discussing different scandals. All they do is to inspire and they create. The magazine is a place of creativity, of imagination. I spoke to one of their makeup artists who set up for a shoot, and she told me, that there was a certain meaning behind the shoot. In one of the photosets they were sending out the message of how demanding the society is, by putting up all of these young models, wearing stylish and trendy clothing, but looked tired and exhausted. So little time, so much to do as it could be translated into.
What is more incredible about this magazine is that it is built up on free work. I spoke to their CFO, and discovered that none of the models were paid, and they agreed on working with them anyway, all they did get was the pictures for their portfolio. One of the models even came out on his birthday and took a three hour train ride just to help out. This is called dedication. The writers, the whole team behind this, was not paid a single dime, all they were able to get was the experience. They wanted to broadcast fashion in a different way. This is new, this is abstract and this is different, however in the best possible way. I recommend everyone to go and see what this magazine has to offer. Many of their articles are very useful, I have myself read a lot of their articles, and I have gotten a lot of use from it. They have interviewed designers, art directors, and many more people.
