As some of you might know, the fashion weeks have begun all over the world, and last week Copenhagen Fashion week was on. I went to as many shows as possible, and I have reviewed almost all of them, and I can say that I have gained a great inside to the Copenhagen based fashion stage. This season didn’t really surprise, many designers stayed in their element, and created things that sticked to their brand, while this is what was happening, a few details, found its place at a lot of shows, and I believe that these are going to be the trends that will stick throughout 2014. Many of these trends already exists, however some newer ones, or older ones are finding their place.
Fur. Despite the many conflicts, which Protestants had with Kopenhagen Fur, they were the opening show to for the Copenhagen Fashion Week, and after that, it was visually obvious, that the experience with fur didn’t stop there. Many other brands had in cooperated fur into their collections, and outfits. Freya Dalsjø even dared to create shoes with fur to compliment the outfits. But even though fur has been around for a lot of seasons, this season it has become even more colorful. Fur in the color of yellow, orange, even pink; have made it through on the runway.
Slouchy pants. Skinny jeans and boyfriend are very familiar, to us females. We all love them, we all love them. They will never go out of style, however a new form of trousers are making their way into the closet of almost every woman, if it isn’t already there. I am talking about the slouchy pants. And for what I am concerned this is the best possible trend to have found its way onto the fashion scene. It is comfortable and stylish, and it will not be like the skinny jeans, make marks on your stomach if they are a bit too tight, and they for sure will not hurt when you have eaten a bit too much, and force you into unbutton a button or two. These were found on almost every designer collection, and even around the audience the trend had already snuck in on everyone.
Leather. This classic trend has yet again brought itself back to life season in and out. And this season is no exception. Leather was shown in many different forms and was shapes the classic leather pants were there, the skirts were also available in many collections and finally the dresses. The Danish designer David Andersen also got himself a lot of leather in his collection. What was more interesting about the leather was the mixing with the different textures. Leather and fur, have become a classic combination by the time, and it surely proved itself this season.
This was some of the trends that I definitely believe will move on in 2014. Although there were a lot of different trends and statements that hit the runways, however these were the most promising ones and the ones that brought most to this season of fashion week.
